Church Leadership

Kyle Carlson is the pastor at Mt. Zion Community Church. He is dedicated to serving the Lord in all aspects of his life. Kyle is first and foremost a family man. In 2003, he married his best friend, Toni, and they are the proud parents of 5 children: Spencer, Everett, Isabel, Daphne, and Reece.
While he and his wife were attending First Baptist Church in Arkansas City, Kansas, Kyle felt God calling him into the ministry. He answered the call quickly and began obtaining his B.S. in Christian Ministry Leadership at Barclay College, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2011. After taking a few years off from school, he completed his Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Liberty University in 2019 and went on to receive a Master of Divinity with honors from Liberty University in 2021. In 2022, Kyle graduated Summa Cum Laude from Reformed Baptist Seminary with a Master of Theological Studies. Most recently, Kyle has begun to take courses at Forge Theological Seminary.
Kyle began his ministry of service by teaching a middle school Sunday school class and serving as a deacon at his church while attending college. He served on staff at First Baptist from 2010 to 2012 as a part-time minister of visitation. In 2013, He was called to be the bi-vocational pastor at First Baptist Church of Argonia, Kansas. In 2015, Kyle was offered the position of associate pastor here at Mt. Zion. When the senior pastor retired at the end of 2016, Kyle was asked to step up to full-time service as the senior pastor. Some of Kyle's spiritual influences are Reformers and Puritans, John MacArthur, Voddie Baucham, Paul Washer, Robert Godfrey, and R.C. Sproul. Kyle is an expositional preacher who boldly and enthusiastically proclaims the excellencies of Christ, and of course, chocolate chip cookies.
In Kyle's spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies (the cheesier the better!), weightlifting, reading, shooting, hobby farming, watching the NFL, taking his kids to Christian concerts, and taking his wife to her favorite restaurant (Ninja Sushi Steakhouse or Schlotzsky's).
Whether in his capacity as pastor at the church, or in his favorite roles as husband and father, Kyle tries to live his life by one motto. For God’s glory alone.

Grady Osborn is married to Sandy Osborn. He is employed by the state of Kansas and serves as the Chaplain at Winfield Correctional Facility. Grady has a Master of Theological Studies Degree from Reformed Baptist Seminary with an emphasis in systematic theology. Grady is committed to the Word of God: to studying, practicing, and teaching.
Some of his hobbies that he is most passionate about include reading really thick books, playing with their dog Molly, and last but certainly not least, following our pastor around the country attending one Christian conference after another.
We are grateful for Grady's faithful commitment to Christ, our church family, and his sacrificial service to our beloved members.

Rick Holloway, Elder
Rick Holloway started attending Mt. Zion Community church after being invited by a friend. The teaching of true biblical doctrine on Sunday and mid-week services convinced him to attend regularly. Rick became a member in 2021. He enjoys singing and playing his guitar, and leads the music during church services. He believes that the only way to heaven is through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (John 14:6) and that we should never stop learning about Him.
Rick works at an aircraft engine repair facility. He lives on a small farm where he raises Painted Desert sheep and chickens. Some of his hobbies include hunting with modern and primitive weapons, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. He fished for freshwater species most of his life, but has recently become "hooked" on saltwater fishing.
